Interlude: Teacher Wanted!

So Cami started school last season and frankly I feel like traveling out of town every single day to go to class must be such a pain… Rob says it’s time for us to think about funding a school! So my question… who should be the teacher? I thought I’d be fun to to an interview-by-committee!

Emmie: Elliot, you’d love to be our new schoolteacher, right? You’re super nice & sweet so I feel like you’d be great!

Elliot: I get along pretty good with kids, but, well, y’know, I was really hoping to become captain hero, and-

Emmie: Hmm! Sound like kids’ stuff! And you know what else involves kids? SCHOOL. So you’d be perfect, right? You have that puppy-dog-face, too, kids love it. NEXT!!!

Sean: I suppose being a teacher would be nice… I love kids! I haven’t had any of my own yet, but, uhm. I think it’d be nice.

Emmie: No offence, Sean, but you’re kinda timid! How are you going to stand up to a big class of rowdy children?

Sean: A big class? I thought it was just the one child…

Emmie: Hm, you make a convincing argument. Let’s see who’s next…?!

Wisteria: I always saw myself furthuring my artistic career here in Hollyhead, but if the children need me…

Emmie: Well, you can always teach an art class right??

Wisteria: Yes, I suppose. I am already employed, of course. I’m the checkout girl at Abigail’s clinic.

Emmie: Well, last I heard, you were setting fire to the clinic? Perhaps because you’re after Abi’s man, HMMMMMM?

Wisteria: That was one tim- how do you even know about that???

Emmie: I dunno if you’re totally safe to have around the school, actually. What if you set it on fire??? NEXT!!!

Emmie: You can talk, can’t you? A proper teacher needs to be able to speak to her children!

Chloe: I can! But sometimes it’s more fun to talk in meows~

Emmie: That does look fun! You like kids, right Chloe?

Chloe: Meow!!!

Emmie: Great!! She makes a convincing case, folks! NEXT!!!

Thomas: Grumble.

Emmie: What’s up, Tom?

Thomas: I didn’t even apply for this teacher job? Why am I being called for an interview?

Emmie: Well, this isn’t really an interview, just a feature for the Herald! I’m totally passing the results of the survey on to Robert, though! So try to make a good impression! You like kids, right?

Thomas: Not particularly. I don’t hate them, but-

Emmie: Great! Well, that about wraps things up here, folks.

Don’t forget to vote for your favourite candidate for the job!! We have to pick the best candidate for future teacher from this sorry bunch! (Just joking - I think any one of them would do a great job!)

Rob has told me we are absolutely NOT making hiring desisions based on a poll in a magazine, especially when the job involves the future of our children, but I think I can convince him otherwise!!!
