Our architect has finally busted out his summer leaves! It’s so cool how he changes with the seasons…
I caught Oli peaking at me with his telescope again today and this time I’m 100% sure it was no accident!!! I gave him a real telling off because, honestly, I get that married life isn’t easy for a romance sim or whatever, but that shouldn’t mean he has to perv on me!
---
“Hello, handsome!”
“Hi. Wow, there certainly are a lot of you all of a sudden…”
“The name’s Margot. And you…?”
“I… I have to go get some shopping done, we’re almost out of food and I wouldn’t want my beautiful wife going hungry, haha! Nice meeting you, Margret.”
---
“Hey, Myrna? No vegetables?”
“Sorry, I’m still waiting on this harvest!!”
“Well, our fridge is totally empty. Could I borrow a few items from your garden?”
“No, they have to be perfect when I harvest them. You’re a plantsim, aren’t you? Why not grow your own garden?”
“Hey, Emmie. I really am sorry about the other day, I’ve been feelings all cooped up and nosy and, I don’t know, there’s no excuse for it. But will you forgive me?”
“Sure thing! But keep that lens away from our house next time! You got it, buster??”
“I’m getting a little swamped with all the customers, recently… you wouldn’t happen to be looking for work, would you?”
---
---
---
“You gotta admit, I’m doing pretty good at this construction thing! Right?”
“Well, definitely a better construction worker than you were security guard!”
“Is anyone ever going to let me live that down? Watcher’s sake.”
---
“Oh, jeez, is it werewolf hour already?”
The Clinic now has its first employee! Now Abi can concentrate on making stock, since she’s not really much of a people person…
I heard from Bennie, though, that Wistie accidentally started a fire while Abi stepped out for some air! Honestly, this is why you can’t trust employees. I hope the fire didn’t scare poor Ben too badly.
“That was amazing, the way you took care of that fire! You’re so brave…”
“Th-thank you. Honestly, I was just upset that the soup got burned, I didn’t really think about it. I think I need a shower now though, so I’m closing up shop.”
“Okay.”
“I promise we’re not usually so hectic, so come back tomorrow, maybe?”
---
“Eugh, can I sit with you guys for a bit?”
“I just started a kitchen fire on the my first day of work.”
“Hahahaha, what??? Aren’t you supposed to be this prodigy who’s incredible at everything she does?”
“What are you talking about, who told you that?”
“Emmie. Although, okay, Emmie is quite easily impressed and may have hyped you up more than necessary.”
“Sounds like it… anyway, Oli, I’m amazed your wife didn’t fire me!”
“Oh, she’s far too nice for her own good, I’m sure she’ll let you off the hook. If you were my employee, I’d be way harder on you.”
---
“Are you planting a tree?”
“Yeah… just giving back to mother nature, you know how it goes.”
---
“You know, somehow you really make dressing in complete rags work?”
“Is that supposed to be a compliment??”
“Yes! Sorry, I’m usually a lot more charming, I swear.”
“Okay, consider me charmed. Wouldn’t your wife mind, though?”
“Ah, yeah, probably…”
“She is my boss, still, I hope.”
“Well, I wouldn’t want to jeopardize your career.”
“I wouldn’t want to jeopardize your marriage!”
“All right, Wisteria, you’d better get going. Consider that a one-off.”
“Sure. It’s just a little harmless flirting anyway, it’s not like we’re going to do anything!”
“But you won’t mention it to Abi, right?”
“Of course not.”
“Thanks.”
---
“So that’s three bolts, huh… Hey, what’s that in the sky…?”
---
“Dadda!”
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head, Millie, you dad’ll be back soon. Want to play with your uncle Raye while he’s gone???”
“Uncca Raye.”
“That’s right.”
“Hope Oli doesn’t mind me eating their leftovers… eh, let’s call it a babysitting fee!”
---
“Peekaboo! Boo buh boo.”
“Wassat??”
“Oh, the UFO! That’ll be your daddy back! What did I tell you, huh?”
---
“Whelp, that’s my work done. See you at work tomorrow, Oli!”
---
Abi got home and brought him under the sun-lamp and he recovered fine, but I think the whole abduction thing kinda freaked him out! :(
---
“Hey! Morning, Myrna.”
“Good morning. Is it true…?”
“Gee, word spreads quick, huh.”
“You can thank Emmie for that. How are you feeling?”
“Better, now that I’ve had to take some time to take it all in. It was a bit of a shock…”
“I bet.”
---
“I’m fine.”
“Loookit me!!!”
“I have to get to work, dear.
“Look first!!!”
“Oh, wow! Look who’s all grown up!”
“Me!”
Camellia Nerium - Star Quality
[Damn, what a show off! I’m going to be assigning a trait when they reach childhood, one when they become a teen, and one when they hit adulthood. They’ll likely be a mix of headcanon and randomization - this one just seems too perfect!]
“Hey, Mr. Rachet! Look what I can do!”
---
“So I’ll be having an alien baby, right?”
“Damn… so that’ll be 2 kids… do you think it’d be possible to, you know..?”
“What are you getting at?”
“For Abi to have kids? She loves Camellia and I’m sure she’ll love this baby too, but I know it kills her not to be able to carry her own… do you have any spells or potions that could help?”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
---
“Your tummy is getting soooo big!”
“Hahaha. I’m sure they’ll be popping out any day now.”
“Are you hoping for a witch, or a werewolf?”
“A witch, of course! Living with one werewolf is bad enough.”
“Hey!!”
---
Oleander’s “Happy Home Construction” became the first business in Hollyhead to win the prestigious Will Wright Grant! How exciting is that? Here comes the moneeeeey~!!!
Sadly Oli is getting all of it and refused to buy me a pizza, let alone my Publishing House :(
---
After much waiting, I finally got a chance to meet and photograph this cutie now that she’s a kid! We’ve also got an EXCLUSIVE interview with the child coming right up!!
Emmie: So, Camellia Nerium! does it feel, knowing that you’re the first child to grOw up in Hollyhead!
Camellia: I keep hearing this town is special, but I don’t really get why…
Emmie: Well, it’s a town aimed specially at magical creatures. It’s only the third of its kind!! You’ll actually be going to school in the first one - Magic Town. When do you start?
Camellia: Tomorrow…I’m feeling a little nervous.
Emmie: Don’t be! They’re all gonna love you, I’m sure. What are you most excited to start learning about?
Camellia: UFOs!! Daddy got abducted a few nights ago, and when I saw them drop him off it was so COOL!! I’m gonna build a rocket someday, fly into space, and show the aliens my cartwheels.
Emmie: Such ambition!! We might be looking at the first ever plantsim to go to space… you read it here first, folks!
More exciting news - young Camellia has agreed to write us reports on the Nerium family once in a while! Sort of like an informant, but less shady and more fun.
---
Oli’s gonna be taking some time off from construction work to enjoy paternity leave - let’s hope Raye & Orion can handle everything while he’s gone! Hahaha.
---
“You know, I’m actually kind of excited about the baby now that I’ve got used to the idea.”
“Oh! That’s such a relief to hear.”
“I was also thinking… do you want to go out and celebrate?”
---
Raye’s bar is finally open for business! He said he spotted Abi and Oli out on a date there and honestly good on them!! Who says having kids means you have to stop having fun? I guess Oleander couldn’t really have anything to drink, though :(
[Bar is by @moocha-muses!]
---
“You’re good at building things, right?”
“I like to think so, sure.”
“Will you build my rocket?? I’m gonna be an astronaut and meet aliens like Daddy!”
---
---
Emmie: Hi, readers! I’m just sat down with Oleander for a quick interview about his recent abduction. First of all, a quick advert! With this event, Rob’s looking to hire some paranormal investigators for the town. We’re also looking for a smartie-pants to help with the education of the kids, especially now that Camellia’s child. Write in if you’re interested!!!
So, Oli, do you remember anything about it???
Oleander: No… which I know if par for the course with alien abductions, the memory loss, but still. Honestly, I’m not sure whether to be thankful or disappointed. On one hand, I could have learned a lot, but on the other hand it could have been a horrifying experience… I dunno. I’m not really one for sci-fi and learning, anyway. My heart’s always with Earth and the soil.
Emmie: Your love for the natural world really comes across in your architecture. Do you have any other hobbies we might not know about?
Oleander: I’ve been trying to teach myself the violin, and I think I’m starting to get pretty good at it. Music’s always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to actually pursue it… did you know plants respond if you play them music?
Emmie: That’s pretty cool!
---
“B-? Whaaaaat?”
---
I got to the Nerium house for their end-of-season photoshoot and like, come on! Put the book away! Put the watering can down! Honestly, dont these guys know how to be professionals?? :(
---
All right, that wraps things up with the Neriums! I love these guys - what a sweet family!
Their businesses are both totally booming and they’re probably the richest family in town now, I’ll have to ask ‘em for some tips! Or maybe a loan? Haha. I wonder what they’ll do with all that cash - start a third business?? Or, maybe it’s time they moved house to accommodate their growing family? Camellia’s a plantsim and perfectly happy just sitting outside, but aliens have neneds just like regular sims so that treehouse might get a little cramped!
In autumn we’ll get to meet Oleander’s baby which I’m excited for - which alien race will it be???
