Season 4 - Pals
Morning, and welcome back to Hollyhead!
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Emmie, should you being walking around in the daytime, especially in your condition?” Well, I’ll have you know I would *love* to sleep through the day but this dang baby keeps waking me up all the time! Luckily there always seems to be food left out for me, the guys are so sweet <3
Clive’s been hard at work as always! Honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without him, he’s totally the House Dad! Which, gets me thinking, why the heck are me and Raye the ones going to be parents? Yikes!
I’m finding I quite like being pregnant so far! For one thing it’s a great excuse to bum around the house all day watching movies. Secondly, everyone is super nice to me! I’m getting phone-calls 24/7 from people checking up on me. Nice to know people care! <3
Raye in particular has been hovering around me non stop. Making me food, sitting with me wherever I go… it’s almost a little suffocating! I suppose it *is* his baby too, though. To think I thought he might not want to be involved, I was soooo wrong!
“Are you busy?”
“Um, yes! I’m about to start season 3 of-”
“I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date.”
“Are you kidding? I’m not leaving the house so close to my due date!”
“We could have one in the living room. The fire’s lit up - cozy movie night with the baby?”
“Aw, okay!”
“I’d better go to bed, will you be okay?”
“I’ll be fine, I’m not made of glass! You don’t want to get demoted again, do you?”
“No, but-”
“Then get to bed!! Honestly.”
I had to get Raye out of the way so I go go into labor in peace… I love him, but I honestly just wanted it to be a private moment and thought him being around would stress me out!
So instead I got a private moment with my baby girl. Welcome to Hollyhead, Lori Aisling!!! I can’t believe I’m a Mom now, it sounds crazy to write.
It might sound shallow, but honestly I’m super excited to be able to fit into my dress again! I’ve had it for decades but it is my absolute *favorite*.

“And you’ll check up on her regularly? Don’t forget to feed her, either!!”
“I’ll be fine. I’ve actually looked after infants before.”
“You have? Wow, you’ll have to tell me all about it!!”
“Some time, yes. But today, you need to get to work.”
Raye was going a little stir crazy and wanted to get to know some of our new neighbors, so he headed out to visit the lake he and Oli have been working on. It’s finally safe to go swimming there as of today!
(This is a first for me - townies getting their first kiss while I’m still on the loading screen!)

“Ah, yeah, stinky baby diapers are just what I like to smell when I’m trying to eat.”
“Hey, watch it!”
“Yeah!! You don’t exactly smell like a basket of roses yourself, buster!”

Business is going great over at the station! Clive has the place up to level 4 now, which means more money for us, yay! I keep wondering if he’s going to want to move out at some point, but I’m glad he’s happy to stick around with us.

“Oh, is it morning already?”
“Shouldn’t you be getting to your coffin? You could have cleared these dishes, too.”
“Sorry, sorry! I’m on the VERY last chapter of my latest book and I think this one’s gonna be a hit!!”
Yup!!! Bestseller - what did I tell you?! This book’s a published selection of my baby blogs and if there’s one thing people love, it’s babies! :D

“So, do you ever think about travelling? Seeing a bit more of the world?”
“Nah, I’m good! I’m actually a lot older than I look - I’ve seen a lot of the world already! To me this is the most interesting place. Besides, I’m a Mom now so my daughter’s gotta come first, y’know?”
“Oh, of course. Is she asleep right now?”
“Yup, but I can totally introduce you to her later!”

[ I noticed that with my ageing mod poor Raye was likely to hit elderhood before Lori was even a teen, which seemed way too young to me! It’s been a bit of a consistent issue I have with aging - I don’t like to give my sims kids right away! So since this neighbourhood has a bit of a slower pace than some I went ahead and added an extra 15 or so days to the adult lifespan. This was my first time fiddling with a mod and I’m happy it worked??? ]

I’m still so thrilled Raye’s stepped it up in the Dad Department! So much less pressure for me - I can relax a little. It doesn’t hurt that he looks super hot with a baby in his arms, either.

Business is still booming at the station! I’ve been helping out where I can, too. Like, arguably I should be focusing on opening up my press office, but ugh, it’s a pain… especially with a baby to deal with! Everyone can read the Herald online so it’s not like we really NEED newspapers, right??
“Here’s to a hard night’s work, Clive!”
“Thanks for your help tonight.”
“Oh, don’t mention it! You doing well helps all of us, right?”

Lots of visitors today!
I heard from Raye that Chloe and Orion kissed when they were over today, so upset that I missed it!! A nice picture would have been the perfect cover shot for this week’s issue :(
Ah well, maybe next time. They make a cute couple though, don’t you think?? Werewolf and kitty-cat? I’m shipping it!! <3
“So when’s your bundle of joy due?”
“Soon, I hope! Then again, we’ll probably need to move house so we have more space, and the crops aren’t ready for harvest yet… I’ll be so glad when we have everything sorted.”
“Will they inherit your witch magic?”
“Interesting question! My wife is a werewolf so they could be a witch, a wolf, or both!”
“Wow, that’s way more exciting than the gender, huh?”
“Aw, you saved some grilled cheese for me?”
“I tried feeding some to Lori, but she wasn’t having it.
“Duh! She’s not ready for solids yet. Man, I love grilled cheese… sometimes I think I could be quite happy as a GC sim, haha!”
“I lived with a bunch of grilled cheese sims once… they treated toasting sandwiches like it was the national sport.”
“Sounds fun!”
“No way, they were so over-competitive about it, such a nightmare to live with…”
“Do you have any genies living here?”
“Hmmm, not yet! Guess we gotta start keeping an eye out for magic lamps, huh?”

Raye’s been trying to work off the Dad-bod he’s developed lately… personally I think the extra pounds kinda suit him, but I guess it’s up to him!
Donkey is kind of a dopey pet, but Clive’s really into the idea of training him up into a crime busting machine!! Mixed success so far…
Clive gave up on the training and decided he’d rather use his day off to take a fishing trip - great for me since we get to eat the fish later!! Yum.
Donkey tagged along and proved super popular with the new residents - they made a real fuss over him.
Another day, another newly blossoming romance I end up missing the chance to witness! :(
[I forgot to mention before, but the swimable lake is by @melthefattie HERE. I’m not using lot points but since it’s been a full 4 seasons I thought a ‘free’ lot would be nice! I plopped it down where the old campsite used to be.]
Raye got home from work in time to see our baby girl grow up, and what a cutie she is! Not sure about that suit though, I dunno what Raye was thinking with that…
I missed the birthday, but settled down to play with her as soon as night fell. She looks so much like Raye - it’s kind of bonkers. She definitely has my brow and mouth, though!
Anyway, that’s all from us! I wanted to show off Raye’s new bar a little but I’ve been so busy with Lori and my deadline is approaching… so maybe you’ll see it next issue, haha! Stay tuned for updates on what our neighbours are up to - they try to be private but this journalist ALWAYS gets her scoop!
